Symphony Designer House Bare Bones Party

Sister and I are excited to be a part of the Symphony Designer House in Little Rock this year.  We've been busy making plans for the Bare Bones Party Thursday night.  It's always fun to see the house empty before the designers transform everything.  We'll be doing the upstairs landing.

It was all about our storyboard today.

A few pics of The Landing before...

Pretty boring, huh?

Our plan is a warm take on griege...

Paint it Benjamin Moore Bleeker Beige

Layer with beautiful gray toned fabrics

Light it up with antique wall sconces

Accessorize with gallery style art walls

Add the unexpected with a cozy reading nook

The last really dark image is a small alcove, 47"wide with a large window.  We plan to turn it into a reading nook with  custom velvet skirted bench.  We'll install reading sconces on either side and a fabric balloon shade on the window.

Similar to above with a tufted top and this gray velvet fabric...

A single window treatment similar to this...out of this...

On the big wall at the top of the stairs (it's where the 3 vertical art pieces currently hang) we will do a custom console table and skirt it in charcoal gray linen.  A French painted mirror, very old concrete statue and flanking chairs will complete the mix.

Here's the fabric...

The side chairs are French Empire with a  a wonderful old gray/creme/gold painted finish.  They left in the upholster's truck this morning.  This is the fabric they'll come home in...

We're so excited about these Framed 18th Century French Chateau Logs...

Old sconces are being wired etc. and will sport custom shades similar to these...

We lucked out. There's an outlet in the reading nook area so we can have functioning reading lights/ sconces. Other than that, there are ZERO outlets anywhere and no attic access. We'll get creative with another large antique sconce and use candles.

Lots of art, line drawings, water colors etc...hung gallery style of course.  We'll add a few battery picture lights here and there.   Who knows what will happen in the last hour.

But for now...

We'll hang this at the Bare Bones Thursday night...

What do you think?  It's your turn.  Let's Talk!
