I had been working, and in and out of the rain all day long (the reason for looking so lovely) when I ran by Cobblestone and Vine to see Leslie because she was doing a book signing and I was so excited to finally meet her in person. We had emailed back and forth for a while , so I wasn't going to miss this chance. regardless of my day.
We hit it off instantly...love so many of the same things...
She is a wonderful talent and business woman and her books serve as frequent inspiration for our design business. If you are a design enthusiast you need her books....Two in print...and a third will be released September 2015.
The first book...mine is looking really tattered ...it's just awesome...

This book was released November 2014 and it's really good too..

In visiting with Leslie I found that she is NOT just a faux finisher.
She is an artist and designer as well. When an interior designer comes to her to do a project...they talk vision and then Leslie comes back with the ideas...she lays out a plan for finishes that are appropriate, cohesive and authentic. This sets her apart from other faux finishers.
Segreto Finishes becomes a part of the design team...
I could share so many images...but I've picked a few of our favorites...and then you just have to go to her website to view more...believe me...you will want to.
Love this dining room...casual and so French...
One of our favorite powder rooms ever...
Everything is so soft and serene in this beautiful living room...
What an awesome way to treat a long hallway...
Oh my... the built in doors with such a fabulous finish...
The plaster finish is so subtle and pretty...and I really want those inset architectural pieces on either side of the fireplace. Too die for!
Yes, yes, and yes...just love those painted columns in the corner...May be hiding something...may not...they are just fabulous and add great architecture to the space.
I may be one of the few that loves and appreciates this...but actually one of my favorites ...So authentic...Nothing over done and cheesy ...So French...Just love it...
Always a superb job on furniture pieces and cabinets...
What a gorgeous living room...
Love the way they treated these doors rather than the expected dark stain...
Painted ceilings...either wonderful...or you know what I mean...Not so much!
This is really beautiful.
There is an art to faux finishing...It's not just painting old furniture. Leslie and her team are true artisans who continue to perfect their craft.

It has been an honor to introduce you to my new friend.
What do you think about her work?
It's your turn. Let's talk!
2014 was the first full year with our store.. Wow! The days have literally flown by.
The response has been fantastic...and we have so many plans to grow and enhance the Providence Design store in 2015.
We have been working on a lot of re-models and new construction has become our specialty.
We love nothing better than a project from the ground up...
We were chosen to be the Southern Living Idea House Designers in Little Rock. The home opens in the Waterview Edition on April 23rd with all kinds of events. We've been working hard on this project and so much more to do.
We've taken care of lot's and lot's of details every day...
Shopping for just the right piece for our clients...
They love their pair of new sofas...Can't you tell?
Sister spent lot's of her days searching for just the right fabrics...
And Luci helped too...We brought Luci home to live with us in April and she is a complete joy!
And as you can see...Sister also broke her foot this year!
We've helped plan and decorate for events...
We've worked in so many houses...each one with it's own unique style for living...
Obviously we can't share all of our design work for the last year. One thing that strikes me as I look back, and I hope you noticed as well... each project is truly unique. There are no two homes that look alike. We try very hard to listen to our clients and carefully consider their needs, desires and budget. It takes more time and creativity...It's worth the effort.
We've tried lot's of new recipes...
We've Been To New York...Atlanta...and Round top twice searching for unique finds that our customers just can't live without...we've had a bit of fun ourselves along the way..
We not only had TWO homes featured in the national publication, Country French... a dining room we designed was on the cover...You can view the issue online.
We are beyond thrilled. Really...this is our dining room on the cover! Wow!
Tuscan Style, another national publication just hit the news stands and we have a home featured in this publication. We hope you will pick up a copy...Again we are humbled...and beyond thrilled.
We had a project featured in the June issue of At Home in Arkansas...we are so proud of this project. To see the feature click here.
Another project was featured in AY Magazine in June...
We had a Christmas party this year...it was a challenge to fit it in but so glad that we did...
Then on the 18th At Home in Arkansas did a photo shoot of my Christmas Decor for the December 2015 issue...as I told Chip Jones the editor...I hope I'm alive to see it. A year is a long time to wait...
The grand finale for our design year was being included with 24 other trend setting designers from around the state of Arkansas on the cover of the January issue of At Home in Arkansas...
Talk about being both humbled and excited...
We work every day to live up to this...certainly not for the press...but for the clients that make this all worthwhile for us...
To each and every one of you...we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
We wish you the very best New Year ever.
Here is to 2015!
It's your turn. Let's talk!
In our last post we explained how this week our Inspired By feature is in two separate posts!
Last week on our Facebook page we posted a couple of photos of bedrooms and bathrooms that were either light or dark, and we asked which of the two you preferred.
We already posted the lighter looks, now lets check out the darker rooms, then you tell us what look you prefer!
Again we will start with the Living Room...
Now lets check out a few Kitchens...
Next the Bedroom....
Bedroom by Providence Design
Finally lets look at three darker bathrooms...
So after seeing the darker spaces how do you feel? Still partial to the lighter ones of the first post? Leaning more towards the darker rooms?
Its your turn. Lets talk!
