BEHIND THE DESIGN - CAMDEN RESIDENCE
Kitchen & Breakfast Room
I’ve done a post previously on this home for the Master Bedroom.. Click Here to View Post! Sister met with this client and her Mom and they have such a sweet, close relationship. The home was our clients childhood home. Her Mother now lives next door. There was something so special about this project… the home was built in the early 1970’s.
Our client loves both traditional furnishings and lots of color. .
Before & After
We loved the original terra-cotta flooring..
When it came to picking the fabric and wallpaper we knew she wanted something fun yet traditional… what’s not to love that’s blue and white? it’s an absolute classic.
I just love how these end chairs turned out…. This fabric is just stunning..
To make more of a statement we put a larger pattern on the end chairs and a smaller pattern on the bamboo chair seats.
We knew we wanted to remove the wall separating the breakfast room and Kitchen. In place we wanted a larger island with a fabulous stone top instead. It was kind of a no brainer when you’re in the space.
It makes it feel so much more open…. We did a have a hard time finding remnants of the terra-cotta flooring to make up for where the wall was taken down but we were beyond lucky that they were able to find some of the remaining terra-cotta under the fridge..
The wall is gone! I mean how much of a difference when you look at the picture on the right!?… the two spaces blend so beautifully now… Our client kept telling us how much just this kitchen has effected her day to day… A bright happy kitchen to wake up to instead of a dark, enclosed space.
The range was originally in the corner of the kitchen space… We moved it to the center… It looks like it was meant to be
I’ve Added some fun before and after pin images - feel free to share…We are so excited with this before and after.
What is the biggest difference to you? What would you have changed or done differently?
