Fabulous Outdoor Spaces

Not a lot has changed since I was a kid. Absolutely love to be outdside.  Given the chance I will always eat outdoors, and if I get to relax on the porch at night you practically have to drag me in.

Sister is the same way.  That being said we are so excited to be working on outdoor spaces right now.  We have a really good friend and client that is getting ready for a party in a few weeks. We're helping with the covered back porch.  It's going to be fabulous!  I'll share pics soon.

This project has inspired us both to do a little work on our own porches. One thing we have all needed is an outdoor rug.  Sister found a great resource for outdoor sisal look rugs.  We're working up an order right now....

Just a couple of the options available.  We have swatches for all of them.

Stay tuned for pics of our finished projects too.

Are you needing a little nudge to make some changes this Spring?  If so, here is some wonderful inspiration...

This is an all time favorite!

Are you feeling inspired?  What kinds of plans are you making?  Call us if you need a little help.  Outdoor spaces are one of our favorites!

It's your turn.  Let's talk!

Sunday Supper...Spaghetti With Basil and Parsley

It's still a little early here to begin putting plants in the ground, but I'm already planning the herb garden off the kitchen.  It's the first thing l"ll plant. This year I'm planning for more perrenials and only using a couple of large pots for accent.

This is an image from last year which was the first year in our new house.

I'll show you all the changes soon.

With herbs on my mind...What's for dinner?

A chilly weekend, so not quite ready for the grill.

Spaghetti with Basil and Parsley sounds really good..

Yum!!!  The image is from Martha Stewart Living.  Unfortunately I didn't save the recipe , so I'm winging it.  Here's what I'll try...

Whole wheat thin spaghetti cooked according to the directions.

Saute  a few tablespoons of butter with a little olive oil and fresh garlic.

Coursley chop a small bunch of basil and parsley.

Toss together the pasta and garlic butter mixture.

Add the fresh herbs and pecorino and feta cheese.

Salt and pepper to taste.

We'll probably add a simple salad and crusty bread.

I love cooking with fresh herbs.

Not really a cook but snipping herbs from the garden makes me feel like one.

Love, love to  eat outside.  It's still a little cool and the fire's great...
