Just so you will know...the 35th class reunion was great...thought I would just go and stay a short while on Friday night ...make a quick exit...turns out Sister was right...I wanted to stay...and did...It was so wonderful catching up with old friends...

It's been a fun and  relaxing weekend...

I guess  the reunion just put a pep back in my step and I've enjoyed gearing up for the next few weeks...

We have a LOT going on...

We are working with someone who is completely revamping our site and store...hopefully that will be launching sometime in October...This is all getting ready to change and we are beyond excited...

There has been a TON of back and forth...and lot's of decsions to be made leading up to this day...

Lot's of work in various stages in Little Rock too...

This home has been from the ground up...the clients have moved in and we are close to a finish.

And that's just to share a few things that we're working on...

It's all so much fun...

We really love what we do...We also love to we can't wait for you to try this easy, but delicious chicken recipe...

Garlic Pesto Chicken With Pasta

tumblr_m0ftwwOrSG1qma8fzo1_500 (1).png

1/2 bottle of lawrys Herb and Garlic Marinade

2 large spoonfuls of Pesto

2 boneless chicken breasts

Cut chicken into one inch strips. Using same knife make slits into chicken. Pour lawrys marinade and pesto over chicken. Marinate over night.

8 ounces of your choice of pasta (I used whole wheat penne)

2 tablespoons of olive oil

3 cloves of garlic

2 spoonfuls of pesto

1/2 cup of chicken broth

8 ounces of tomato sauce

1 cup of half and half

Boil water and start on noodles. Pour entire batch of chicken, marinade and all, into skillet and cook chicken fully (the marinade will evaporate/cook down) Heat olive oil, cook garlic. Add pesto. Simmer in chicken broth until half has cooked down. Add tomato sauce. Then add milk. Simmer for 5 minutes. Toss pasta in. Add flour if it needs to be thickened. Place chicken on top.

A Fabulous Dining Room Renovation...

We love blogging about the things that we are currently working on...

As we do research for a project it's fun to post some of our inspiration...

We are working on a remodel that includes a new entrance... reworking the stairs to open up the foyer and enlargeing a dining room...

The client wants to add a fireplace... and needs lots of storage...the dining room will be a long narrow room... with a jut out...

The plans are also to move the baby grand into the space with a seating area...

Take a look at some of our inspiration...

Think we have settled on a similar entrance...

The stairs will go straight up , so we won't lose a bathroom upstairs...hoping it will work out to do a similar curve...

A similar jut out in the room will house the baby grand  and we will plan a simple seating area...this will be at the entrance to the dining room...

We will have seating for 12 and are planning for a fireplace and built-ins for storage with antique glass fronts on either side...

inspiration for the built-ins...

obviously very different with antique mirror fronts...but this look...

contemplating paneled walls with hidden love with this idea...

We are in the planning stages with a client that has fabulous much fun!

What do you think?

It's your turn.  Let's talk!

The Sister's Become Fashionably Chic!

We absolutely love blogging.  The very best thing about it is the daily inspiration from blog friends and the friendships that have developed.  It's a friendly community.  Most enjoy sharing knowledge and expertise and helping others along the way. I know I've received far more than I've given and am truly thankful to everyone.

This has been a week where collaboration has abounded.  Debra Phillips with 5th and State is launching a new online landscape design business.  We worked together on a test pilot with my grounds and her work is amazing.  If you missed that post earlier in the week, click here.

On Saturday Ann with Plum Siena, an expert at artisan wall and architectural finishes as well as event planning has put together a virtual Garden Soire in my back yard that you will not want to miss.

AO revised web.jpgann.jpg

Don't forget to come back Saturday for that one.

Today you are in for a huge treat.    Marsha with Splenderosa is the most fashionable person I have ever met.  Her taste is exquisite.  Her jewelry designs are fabulous and you will definitely want to hop over to her site to take a look around and browse her Etsy Shop.

But don't leave just yet, because  Marsha has done a virtual fashion makeover on Sister and I that we're completely blown away with.

Enjoy Marshas's talent...

"I went to a garden party to reminisce with my old friends

A chance to share old memories and play our songs again

When I got to the garden party, they all knew my name

No one recognized me, I didn't look the same"

And, so it goes when two beautiful blonde petite sisters,

who are both interior designers & live in Arkansas,

decided to host a garden party in their

newly envisioned home...

I decided they needed to push the envelope a little,

just as they would do if redecorating our homes,

by outfitting them in coordinating ensembles

with very fashion forward accessories.

After all, they want to be memorable, don't they?

And with these sumptuous dresses from

Alberta Ferretti

they look elegantly at-home casual,

just the right tone, I think.

love the crystal chunks around the neckline

whimsical shoes, either pair

below, a coordinating 2-piece, we need to nip in the waist

because our girls are the white skirt with

appliques...add the turquoise jewelry & voila...casual dynamite.

Jewelry could be interchangeable between the 2 outfits.

And those calf-skin wedges!!

But either pair would do...

Next pair of dresses, again

Alberta Ferretti

because she designs for small women.

Loving the chiffon print, billowing skirts & sleeves.

To keep the ensemble zippy the necklace which has

a tribal flavor with hammered gold hoops.

Sexy red wedges, perfect for the garden.

Goddess dress in coordinating apricot silk chiffon

with appliques of lace in a dark tan...

again the billowing aspects...

lay on the gold & turquoise for a big pop of color

and making it look so new, not so formal...

with those turquoise wedges of summer.

Our ladies both have shorter blonde hair, so we won't be

seeing long strands hanging down so the jewelry becomes

even more important.

I've given them two choices for the enchanting evening.

I do hope they love them as much as I do.

Thank you, Mona, for inviting me to share in all the fun.

Now, let's all grab a glass of champagne and find

a great place to sit so we can see and be seen.

Wow!  Two girls can dream...Sister and I hope we never wake up.  We can't pick a favorite.  We'll just have to beg for lot's of party invitations to wear all of these wonderful clothes.

Thank-you Marsha for such a sweet friendship and the beautiful job you did on this post!

What do you think?  Is Marsha's eye for fashion and beauty not just incredible?  She needs to be dressing Hollywood stars.

It's your turn.  Let's talk!

So Exciting!...The Landscape Re-design Reveal...

I can't tell you how excited I am to share this post with you, grab a cup of coffee because this is really good!!!

If you've been following you know that I've posted about changes  I would like to make this season in our landscape.  My good friend, Debra Phillips with Scentimental Gardens is sooo talented.  She is launching an online landscape design service and has re-designed two of our gardens and made fabulous suggestions for another.

Debra is extremely talented and her plans include instructions that  are executable down to the finest detail.

From Debra...

Where do you begin when you want to achieve beautiful gardens? Inspiration abounds,  plant choices are seemingly endless. How about a style? Do you favor formal, cottage or a mix of both? Make those decisions and you are still not finished. How do you position everything, what plants make for good companions, how do you make your gardens interesting all year not just May-July, the easy months?

Don't be, it's a process we will explore and then practice at the lovely home and grounds of Mona's .

Do you recall her recent post 'Think Spring and join us in the gardens!'? I believe we were all ready and looking at our own gardens anew after those images of romantic gardens, rich in depth of texture,  and patterns. Properly enhanced with perfectly chosen ornamentation!

And now for the new design...

Do you feel inspired?  Can you take it all in?  Debra is amazing.  I love it all and can't wait to get started.  Even hubby is on board!  Yeah!!!  If your garden needs some creative tweaking you should consider employing Debra.  She can help with small projects or an entire landscape.  She can take your garden from the ordinary to the extraordinary.  Contact information is

Thank-you Debra.  This has been an awesome experience!

Now it's definitely your turn.  Let's talk!

They've worked together on severl design projects. She did the painted fiish on the vanity.

Tres told me that Peggy had actually sent her to Providence Ltd Design because it was one of her favorite sites.  Thank-you so much Peggy!!!

Trey and her husband  visited their friend Peggy, this last Christmas in Portland Oregon. Andrew is a professional architectural and interiors photographer so he took plenty of pictures during their visit.

Peggy uses her home as a design laboratory so there is always something new and intriguing.  She also is a master at accessorizing and creating stunning vignettes. If that is not enough - she also paints on canvas....
