Sunday Supper...Roasted Beef Tenderloin

Wow!...

I had grander plans for this post.. A birthday party for my husband and our Daddy on Saturday night...obviously that's the big thing this weekend...won't be cooking tonight...but lot's of great leftovers...

It's been a very busy week...This is the first time I have grocery shopped, cooked, decorated the house and wrapped the gifts all in the same day as the party...If Sister had not helped with the food, I would have been in real trouble...

I jumped in the shower and got ready 45 minutes before everyone arrived...that was a first...but it was family, and the minute we were all together...it was  OK...

Unfortunately all of the wonderful pictures I had planned to take...just didn't happen... I don't have one picture of the food...and didn't take one of the dining table until the dishes had been cleared...

A video of my day would have been very comical...I literally ran from one project to the next...

Had to do a little Fall decorating on the front porch...I have been out of town just about the entire Fall and didn't even have a pumpkin... Didn't do much, but I think it's simple and pretty...

Everyone in the South has their own version of fresh fried corn.. or Southern Style Cream Corn as some call it...here is ours...It's Daddy's favorite.

 6 ears fresh corn

1/4 cup butter or margarine

1/4 cup water

1 teaspon sugar

1 tablespoon flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon coarsley ground pepper

3/4 cup milk

Cut corn from cobs.  Scrape cobs with a sharp knife to remove milk.  Melt butter in skillet, stir in corn and corn milk, water and sugar.Cook corn until done.  Stir in flour, salt and pepper.  Gradually add milk, stirring constantly.  Cook a few minutes longer.  Do not boil.

Here's a tip...

Cut the corn off the cob in a large bowl to keep it from flying all over the kitchen...

So yummy...I could just eat corn...

and yes, that's bacon you see in the green beans...we live in the South remember?

These are cheater chicken and dumplings...if we had gone to Mother's they would have ben the real thing...you know roll out the dough and all of that stuff...the best no doubt...but I've got the flavoring just right in the next best thing...

Sour cream pound cake and fresh strawberries just waiting for fresh whipped creme...

I know we're late for Sunday Supper...we've been busy cooking...My plan was to quickly take pictures of the rest of the meal that Sister had prepared when she got here and step away and finish the post...Just talked to Mother and Daddy feels rotten...making the perfect blog post just doesn't seem important...it's going to be a wonderful meal and we are going to love on Daddy, and that is what is important!

Wishing you all a very Happy Father's Day!

It's your turn.  Let's Talk!

We've Missed You...

It's been a wonderful holiday season...We love our family and friends so much, and have enjoyed every extra minute with them...

The decorations are all down and packed away...So relieved because we have been back at work with new projects this week.

Remember this inspiration?...

I've tried several times to download our finalized version of the plans and elevation. It's not working, so I'll have to share the pics later. We are all really excited to break ground. It's been a very fun team effort with the client designing this home from an initial baby idea. We love nothing better than a project from the ground up. We'll post our progress along the way...

We've recently started working with another client that hired T. Douglas Enoch, an architect from Memphis Tennessee to design their new home.

These are some homes from his portfolio...

Parkinson Building Group is building the house and it's in the sheetrock stage. This delightful couple have great ideas and we are thrilled to join the team to complete their home. One of those fun ideas includes a green house...

There is also a screened porch on the front of the house with a fireplace...If you're even thinking how odd, I can't wait to share the progress of this project. The architect had great vision and the clients not only have great taste, but are open to new ideas. A winning combination.

There is so much going on right now...lot's of new merchandise to be unloaded at the shops and added online as well...

But it's almost New Years Eve...

Will you be with a crowd?

Or will it be just the two of you?

How will you celebrate?

It's your turn.  Let's Talk!
